Description
This 24-Year-old release from Bushmills was gifted to the staff and its commercial partners on the official opening of the new Causeway Distillery on April 20th, 2023.
This single malt has been matured in Rum and Pedro Ximenez casks.
The facility, located adjacent to the Old Bushmills Distillery, is part of parent company Proximo’s £60m (US$74.6m) investment in Irish single malt distilling and maturation at Bushmills over the last five years.
The new distillery takes Bushmills’ production capacity from five million liters of alcohol per annum to 11 million litres per annum, while retaining the exact whiskey character of the original site.
Causeway Distillery takes its name from the Giant’s Causeway not too far from the distillery and spans 39,000 square feet.

Bushmills
The Bushmills distillery, based in the town where it gets it's name boasts a fantastic heritage and legacy that by their story goes all the way back to 1608. The Bushmills brand has always been a strong part of the Irish Whiskey story and today it still is at the fore of the resurgence that we are currently experiencing. They have received many awards over the years with their various offerings but now in the hands of its latest owners the distillery is experiencing a growth that requires additional cask storage facilities and the development of new finishes and flavours building on the familiar bushmills taste.
