Glen Deveron 20-Year-Old Royal Burgh Collection 1 Litre

Glen Deveron was a single malt brand produced at Macduff distillery. Production began at the distillery in 1963, and it was eventually purchased by William Lawson, the Scotch whisky arm of Italian giants, Martini & Rossi. In addition to provision for the William Lawson blend, the company also set about bottling its single malt, selecting the name "Glen Deveron," and youthful 5 and 8-year-old age statements to make it more marketable in Italy, where its Glen Grant equivalents were best-sellers. Glen Deveron disappeared after Bacardi took over the distillery ownership in 1993, but eventually returned as simply The Deveron. Macduff-labeled single malts were widely bottled by independent companies in the meantime.

Speyside

The Concentration of world class distilleries that exist along the banks of the river Spey cannot be overstated. Brands such as Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Macallan and Aberlour are no stranger to anyone but these are only some of the many distilleries that produce more than 60% of all of Scotland’s single malt whisky. The taste profile of speyside whisky can be classified as 2 different styles. The light, grassy malts from distilleries such as The Glenlivet and Glenfiddich and the rich, sweet big bodied taste of Macallan and The Glenfarclas. The older speyside whiskies can now demand huge prices when they appear for sale with recent highlights of the Macallan selling in excess of $1.3 Million. Most collectors are not spending that sort of money but they still are going over any estimates that are put on them.
