Description
Barolo can be considered one of the greatest wines of Italy. Located in an elevated area, the vineyard is composed of calcareous marls, magnesium, and manganese in the North-West, as well as iron in the South-East. Two styles of Barolo coexist. On the one hand, modern, fruity, supple wines whose tannins are riper thanks to aging in new barrels.
On the other, classic Barolos, are thick, tannic, and often dried out by late bottling. In general, Barolo is distinguished by a very dark color and remarkable aromatic complexity. Massive, racy yet elegant, these wines are characterized by notes of creamy vanilla, tobacco, and smoke.
