Description
An unusual bottle from a storage site used by John Jameson & Son in 1957.
A hand-bottled cask sample from cask 3420 pot still whiskey belonging to John Jameson & Son.
The sample would have been taken as part of quality testing in the laboratory in Bow Street at the time.
Halpin's Row is no longer used as a storage site for whiskey and much of the area has now been completely redeveloped.
110-115 Amien street is the current address of the former warehousing facility, across the street from Lloyd's Bar & Lounge in Dublin 1.
Cask sample dated Friday 28th June 1957, taken from cask 3420.
Considering this sample was bottled over 65 years ago and the complete redevelopment of the area where the cask sample was taken this bottle is likely to be one of the last remnants of whiskey production from this part of Dublin city still around today.
The top of the seal has disintegrated but the seal is still intact.

Jameson
The Original Bow Street Distillery that traded under the Jameson brand was established on the Bow street site in 1780 and a distillery traded on that site right up until all production was moved from there in 1971. At one stage one of the largest producing distilleries in the world with 1,000,000 gallons, it still is one of the most recognised whiskey brands in the world and leads the way in the resurgence of Irish whiskey in the USA and Asian countries. The production under the Jameson brand now includes some innovative creations and blending’s and still the age statement expressions that have gained them a customer base with whiskey connoisseurs worldwide.
