Description

A bottle of Brora 22-Year Old Natural Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

This was distilled in 1972 and bottled at 61.1% ABV in 1994 for Diageo's now-discontinued Rare Malts Selection.

The Brora distillery re-opened in 2021.

"Brora distillery was only active from 1969 to 1983 (well, under the Brora name – it had been running since 1819 under the Clynelish name), but in that short period of time, it produced some stunning whiskies that are incredibly sought-after today.

Brora was the result of the resurrection of the old Clynelish distillery, known as Clynelish B, meaning that all Brora whiskies, on some level, are not Brora at all.

The old Clynelish distillery was mothballed briefly in 1968, before reopening as Clynelish B, and eventually becoming Brora in 1969. The stills and the methods of distillation remained as they were when the distillery was named Clynelish, meaning that it is more than just a name that links these two distilleries. "

The Highlands

Scotland’s largest whisky region boasts a diverse array of styles, from rich and textured to fragrantly floral, as befits an ever-changing landscape of coastline, moor and mountain. Even without the famed Speyside enclave, you’ll find some of whisky’s most famous names here. The world renowned Dalmore, Aberfeldy, Glendronach, Glenmorangie, Oban and Tomatin distilleries all call the highlands their home but the tastes that they produce all vary more than the distance between them. The collectability of these famous highland brands makes them some of the most sought after whiskies in the world
